Antique Georgian engraving of Sir Henry Clinton. He was made the British Commander in Chief during the American War for Independence.
Drawn from life by W. H. Brown and engraved by C Warren, published according to an Act of Parliament in 1791.
The engraving where compiled for The Senator; or, Clarendon’s Parliamentary Chronicle. A Set of engravings of members of parliament, published as Engraved for the Senator circa 1792.
Paper measures 22 by 14 cm, plate mark area is 14 by 9 cm’s with the actual engraving 4 1/2 by 5 1/2 cm’s.
The actual engraving is in very good condition for age, paper has light foxing & creasing, bumped edges, please see pictures.
