Antique Georgian engraving of the Right Honourable George Yonge . Sir George Yonge, 5th Baronet, KCB, PC, FRS (1731 – 1812) he was Governor of the Cape Colony from 1799 to 1801.
Drawn from life by W. H. Brown and engraved by C Corbould, published according to an Act of Parliament in 1791.
The engraving where compiled for The Senator; or, Clarendon’s Parliamentary Chronicle, a set of engravings of members of parliament.
Paper measures 22 by 14 cm, plate mark area is 14 by 9 cm’s with the actual engraving 4 1/2 by 5 1/2 cm’s.
The actual engraving is in very good condition for age, paper has age related marks, bumped edges, please see pictures.
