Etching published in 1864, dated in the plate 1856 by Robert Brandard titled Harrowing.

The print was published posthumously by the Art Union in London after Brandard’s death in 1862 and is from a folio of 34 etchings he produced of landscapes and country scenes. This print is a from a “proof” edition of the folio.

Brandard was a well known engraver who etched work’s for artists such as Turner. Another copy of this set of etching is held by the British Museum.

The etching is on India paper with an overall paper size of 10 1/2 inches (27 cm) by 14 inches (36 cm), print measures 2 1/2 inches ( 6 cm) by 5 1/4 inches (13.5 cm).

Print is in very good condition for age paper will show ageing and foxing mainly away from print area.
