Engraving of George III as king. Bust length with tied wig, plain tie, coat with Garter star, and sash over left shoulder, titled His Britannic Majesty George III.
Drawn with Permission by R. Corbould, from a Painting in the Possession of James Agar, Esquire, Engraved by C. Warren and Published May 20th 1791, by C. Cooke, No 17, Paternoster Row, London.
The engraving was done as a front piece for the The Senator; or, Clarendon’s Parliamentary Chronicle. A Set of engravings of members of parliament was published as Engraved for the Senator circa 1792.
Paper measures 22 by 14 cm, plate mark area is 18 by 10 cm’s with the actual engraving 9 by 7 cm’s.
The actual engraving is in very good condition for age, plate area has light foxing but generally good , red mark aprox 3 cm’s on plate area above engraving, please see pictures.
This print, republished in 1792 is in the Royal Collection Trust, RCIN 604391.
