1797 Antique Print a copper plate engraving of the Abbey of Clonthuskert in County Roscommon, Ireland. The Abbey is said to have been established by St Faithleg, Mac Dermot Roe is recorded as having rebuilt the building in 1385.

1797 Antique Print a copper plate engraving of the Abbey of Clonthuskert in County Roscommon, Ireland. The Abbey is said to have been established by St Faithleg, Mac Dermot Roe is recorded as having rebuilt the building in 1385.

The engraving is dated as published by M Hooper in Holborn, London in 1795 , however this work where not actually published until 1797, there is an engravers signature in the plate J Newton, most likely James Newton (1748 to 1804) .

The engraving is in an impressed area size of 8 by 6 inches with the engraving measuring 6 1/2 inches by 4 3/4 inches. The overall paper size is 13 by 9 inches.

The engraving is in very good condition,  there is age related foxing on the paper, mainly edges, one spot on engraving, please see pictures.
