1797 Antique Print, a copper plate engraving of the Franciscan Abbey in County Tipperary, Ireland. The abbey is also known as Hacket’s Abbey and is said to have been founded circa 1265.

1797 Antique Print of the Franciscan Abbey in County Tipperary, Ireland. The abbey is also known as Hacket’s Abbey and is said to have been founded circa 1265.

The engraving was published by S Hooper in Holborn, London in 1792 , however these works where not actually published until 1797.

The engraving is in an impressed area size of 8 by 6 inches with the engraving measuring 6 1/2 inches by 4 3/4 inches. The overall paper size is 13 by 9 inches.

The engraving is in very good condition, the impressed area is largely clear, there is age related foxing on the paper, mainly edges, please see pictures.
