Stella Steyn watercolour, Classical figures. The painting is 8 by 9 inches with external dimensions of 14 by 12 inches.

Watercolour is unsigned but comes from a collection consigned by the artists nephew which was originally sold through Garland Auctioneers.

This watercolour along with other works in our collection dates from 1961 and 62 . They where part of two of the artists sketch books, one drawn on a visit to Holland to see an exhibition by Franz Hall which she notes on the book particularly inspired here.

The second sketch book was drawn during a visit to the British museum, where she references Goya and relief plaques that where being exhibited.
