Stella Steyn drawing in Conte pencil, Lady in hat. The drawing is 7 1/2 by 9 1/2 inches with external dimensions of 13 1/2 by 15 1/2 inches.

Drawing is unsigned but comes from a collection consigned by the artists nephew which was originally sold through Garland Auctioneers.

This drawing along with other works in our collection dates from 1961 and 62 . They were part of two of the artists sketch books, one drawn on a visit to Holland to see an exhibition by Franz Hall which she notes on the book particularly inspired here. The second sketch book was drawn during a visit to the British museum, where she references Goya and relief plaques that where being exhibited.

Drawing is in excellent condition, paper will show ageing.
