Antique botanical prints a pair titled Red Bartsia and Hedge Stachys by F E Hulme. The prints where published circa 1895.

The prints where done by Hulme as part of larger set for his works on Wildflowers for which he is particularly well known. The works where published by Cassell and Company.

Frederick Edward Hulme (1841 – 1909) was known as a teacher and an amateur botanist. He was the Professor of Freehand and Geometrical Drawing at King’s College London from 1886.

The print area is 6 by 4 inches, with the prints being mounted in hand cut off white Ingres board. The prints will fit a 10 by 8 inch frame.

The print is in very good condition for it’s age with vibrant colours, due to it’s age paper will show ageing and toning, please see pictures.
