1864 Antique print an engraving Defeat of the Rebels at Vinegar Hill after George Cruikshank.
The Battle of Vinegar Hill during the Irish Rebellion in June 1798, when over 13,000 British soldiers launched an attack on Vinegar Hill outside Enniscorthy, County Wexford.
George Cruikshank (27 September 1792 – 1 February 1878) was a British caricaturist and book illustrator.
The prints where printed in London in 1864 and where published in a work that looked at both the 1798 rebellion and Emmett’s insurrection in 1803.
The engravings are 6 by 4 inches with a paper size of 8 by 5 inches. The engraving is in very good condition, paper shows aging and cracking at edges. Please see pictures.
