1797 copper plate engraving of Athlumney Castle in County Meath, Ireland. The structure was started in the 12th century with the oldest parts of the castle said to date from the 15th century.
The engraving is dated as published by M Hooper in Holborn, London in 1794 , however this work where not actually published until 1797.
The engraving is in an impressed area size of 8 by 6 inches with the engraving measuring 6 1/2 inches by 4 3/4 inches. The overall paper size is 13 by 9 inches.
The engraving is in good condition, there is age related foxing and toning on the paper, mainly edges, small spots on engraving at top, please see pictures.
