A circa 1860 engraving by Robert Wallis after a painting by William Bartlett , entitled ” The Cove of Cork”. This view is whats now Cobh and was also known as Queenstown between 1849 and 1920, this is also referenced in the prints title.
Robert Wallis (1794–1878) was an English line-engraver and painter. He also engraved the works of Turner.
William Henry Bartlett (March 26, 1809 – September 13, 1854) was a well known artist, his works where known for being made into engravings.
It was published by George Virtue between 1854 to 1860.
Paper size is 10 3/4 inches by 8 1/2 inches with the actual engraving 7 by 5 inches.
Engraving is in excellent condition, paper has small areas of age related foxing. Please see pictures.
