A circa 1860 engraving by J B Allen after a painting by William Bartlett , entitled ” Scene from Sugar Loaf Mountain ” in Bantry Bay, Cork.

James Baylis Allen was an English line-engraver,he was part of school of landscape engravers that started in Birmingham. He also engraved works by Turner.

William Henry Bartlett (March 26, 1809 – September 13, 1854) was a well known artist, his works where known for being made into engravings.
It was published by George Virtue between 1854 to 1860.
Paper size is 10 3/4 inches by 8 1/2 inches with the actual engraving 7 by 5 inches.
Engraving is in excellent condition, paper has small areas of age related foxing. Please see pictures.
