1797 Antique Print of Tristernagh Abbey in County Westmeath, Ireland. The abbey was founded in c.1200 by Geoffrey de Costentin, it is also known as the Priory of Kilbixy or Tristernagh Priory.
The engraving was published by S Hooper in Holborn, London in 1792 , however these works where not actually published until 1797. There are two prints of Tristernagh Abbey in this edition, different views, the original publisher describes one as in Meath and this one as in Westmeath.
The engraving is in an impressed area size of 8 by 6 inches with the engraving measuring 6 1/2 inches by 4 3/4 inches. The overall paper size is 13 by 9 inches.
The engraving is in very good condition, the impressed area is largely clear, there is age related foxing on the paper, mainly edges, please see pictures.
